Previous & Future Community Use
Building on existing community roots.
The building already has a history of community use and connection. Part of the vision would be to reconnect with previous users, understand what people valued about it, and invite former groups back.
Brookfield Hall could become a flexible community hub, a creative space, a neighbourhood meeting point, and a place for grassroots ideas to grow.
The long-term vision should be shaped by the community itself, not decided by one person or organisation.
The Building
Brookfield Hall is no longer listed for auction.
The building was being sold by Cheshire East Council by auction. Thanks to community support and constructive engagement from local councillors, Brookfield Hall was removed from the auction listing — giving the community time to develop a credible proposal.
It is a detached single-storey building set in its own grounds, adjacent to Brookfield Park in the heart of Nantwich.
The property has significant community potential, a generous main hall, meeting rooms, kitchen facilities, and outdoor space, and sits in a well-connected location within walking distance of the town centre.
Brookfield Hall has been part of Nantwich's community landscape for many years. Previously leased by Nantwich Town Council from 1992–2026, it was used as their administration centre and hired for community use.
The building has been described as being in disrepair, with hire income falling since Covid, but it remains a well-located community space next to Brookfield Park with potential for renewed community use.

Sustainability
Creating a Sustainable Community Hub
We strongly believe this community space needs to be:
- Welcoming
- Practical
- Financially sustainable
- Community-led
- Built around local needs
The long-term vision would be to create a mixed model of income-generating activities and room hire, workshops and events, including building local partnerships with other organisations. These would also include free or low-cost community sessions. The aim would be to create a space that is both community-led and financially sustainable through a full cost recovery approach and diverse income streams.
